Boston Landmarks Orchestra Appoints New Artistic Administrator

BOSTON, MA.  Harron Ellenson, Executive Director of the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, announced today that Arthur Rishi has agreed to take on the position of Artistic Administrator for the orchestra.  His role will include working with Music Director Christopher Wilkins to execute all production and programming aspects of the orchestra’s Landmarks Festival at the Shell series, its Neighborhood Concerts, its educational programs, and its special appearances.  (more)

 

Introducing the International Cat Murr Composers Society

Boston, MA--Composer, pianist, music theorist and teacher Alla Cohen and composer Brian Buch will present "An Evening Celebrating the International Cat Murr Composers Society" on Tuesday, May 1 at 8 PM. The new organization, which will eventually become a 501-C3 non-profit organization, has three founders, composer Alla Elana Cohen and two of her students, Joseph Bachour and Brian Philip Buch and will officially be launched with this concert.

Youth pro Musica announces Auditions for 2012-2013 Season

Youth pro Musica invites boys (changed and unchanged voices) and girls entering grades 2-12 next Fall to audition for its 2012-2013 season.  Young singers from some 25 towns in the greater Boston area participate in this excellent choral training program.  Auditions will be held at YpM's rehearsal home, First Unitarian Society of Newton, 1326 Washington Street in West Newton.

Boston Early Music Festival Announces 2013 Festival Operatic Centerpiece, Handel’s Almira

Cambridge, MA – April 6, 2012 – The Boston Early Music Festival has announced plans for the 2013 Festival fully-staged Operatic Centerpiece Almira, the first opera by the celebrated and beloved Baroque composer, George Frideric Handel (1685–1759), in its first modern-day historically-conceived production. BEMF will offer five fully-staged performances of Handel’s Almira from June 9 to 16, 2013 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College (219 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, USA), followed by three performances at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, MA, USA) on June 21, 22, and 23, 2013; all performances will be sung in German with English subtitles.
