Fortepainist Sylvia Berry to Perform at St. Luke’s

Portland, ME – Fortepianist Sylvia Berry will perform in the chapel at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke (Episcopal), at 143 State Street, Portland, Maine, on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 3:00 pm. Her concert, From the Galant to the Romantic: Music of J.C. Bach, Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven will use the fortepiano which was the instrument of Haydn and Mozart, and on which Beethoven would have played his early keyboard works.

Portland String Quartet 2010-11 Concert Series Opens with clarinetist,Charles Neidich

Portland, Maine - Sunday, October 31, 2010, in the first concert of their 2010-11 Portland Concert Series, the PSQ brings back one of their favorite guest artists, clarinetist, Charles Neidich. Neidich, described as one of the most mesmerizing musicians performing before the public today, will perform Brahms' Clarinet Quintet with the PSQ.This work is widely regarded as Brahms's supreme achievement in chamber music.

Portland Symphony Orchestra Names Lisa Dixon Executive Director

PORTLAND, Maine (October 4, 2010) -- The Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) announced today the appointment of Lisa Dixon as Executive Director. Dixon comes to the PSO from the Memphis Symphony Orchestra (MSO), where she has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2008.
