Salt Bay Chamberfest Artistic Director on Today Show

Damariscotta, ME 15 May 2010. With Sting! Maine's Salt Bay Chamberfest Artistic Director, Wilhelmina Smith played cello in the orchestra that accompanied Sting on the Today Show this past Friday, May 14, 2010.

"It's a glimpse into the life of a freelance musician in New York," she says. "We actually do some really fun gigs. The orchestra for this appearance with Sting included players from some of the city's most established ensembles-- the New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Met Opera Orchestra."

So be sure to go on line and watch it later at your convenience.

There are a few places still available for Salt Bay Chamberfest's August master classes. The two master classes will be Friday, August 13 and Friday, August 20th at 3:00 pm. Each class is a rare opportunity for Maine's finest young classical musicians to receive coaching from Salt Bay's gifted visiting performers, connecting them to the wide world of professional classical music.

If you know an outstanding Maine student of violin, viola, cello, piano or voice, please let them know right away at saltbaychamberfest@yahoo.com.
