Metamorphosis

Classical Voice of New England spent much of the last year in its cocoon, transposing the energy and experiences of its first four years of operations into a more expressive and exciting forum for the classical arts in New England. Although we've emerged from our chrysalis with a new name, Performing Arts of New England, we have not lost our voice!

Our new website offers the same news and reviews as Classical Voice of New England, but now offers much more. Www.performingartsne.org was conceived with the intention of expanding services to the classical arts community in New England. The new website puts the spotlight on individual states, while providing access to events and organizations throughout New England. Through this enhancement we hope to ignite both community interest and collaborations on a regional basis. Links to organizations in each state provide an instant connection to lesser known groups and musicians.

We hope that many visitors to this website will become Friends of Performing Arts of New England, using the quick link to join. We are currently organizing regional groups of classical music aficionados, musicians, and those who support the arts to encourage audience development and community participation in the support of local performers.

The new website also offers performers a Jobs Link to find performance and teaching opportunities. Organizations or private individuals may post ads for musicians, audition announcements, internships and teaching positions, as well as related job opportunities.

Festivals and Conferences enjoy a special category for performance notification with a separate link. New England summers are in full bloom with arts festivals, many of which have become tourist destinations. Browse through the links on this site.

Music Education is an important focus of Performing Arts of New England. Links to community music schools and music departments of colleges and universities are important to our constituents. Performing Arts of England is dedicated to supporting music education throughout New England by providing reviews and posting news and calendar events on our state pages. We also offer reduced rate advertising for educational organizations.

Of great interest to many musicians and musical organizations is the ability to distribute their CDs and DVDs. Our new Music Shop, which is currently under construction, will soon offer regional performers the opportunity to distribute their recordings through the PANE online Music Shop.

Be assured that articles and reviews previously posted to Classical Voice of New England will be available through the Performing Arts of New England website archives.

We hope you enjoy our new homepage, and share it with your friends. If you have any comments or suggestions, please contact me at editor@performingartsne.org.

Enjoy!
